Q. Can I just host a sub-domain as the main domain on one of your Shared Hosting plans?

Ans. You can host a sub-domain as the primary domain name on your shared hosting account with us. All you need to do is sign-up for the hosting plan of your choice with the subdomain and our billing system would setup your account with the sub-domain as the primary domain name. You will receive a welcome email from us after your account is setup. You will then need to create A record entry for the sub-domain at your existing web host (where the main domain is hosted) with our server IP which you will get in the welcome email.

Q. Do you allow access to edit php.ini file?

Ans. We don’t allow php.ini access from shared hosting/reseller hosting servers. You can enable or disable various php.ini functions from .htaccess of your account, you can also enable/disable safe mode, register globals, sessions and many other functions from .htaccess.

We have a couple of shared web hosting uk servers running PHPSuExec reserved for clients who need access to edit php.ini file. Clients whose accounts are setup on one of these servers can create a file named “php.ini” and put whatever configuration settings you need to change in it, in the usual php.ini form.

If you need php.ini access for some other reason then you can also consider our VPS Hosting plans or Semi Dedicated Servers as you will get full root access on your VPS/Semi Dedicated Server along with a dedicated hosting environment to work with.

Q. Do you offer Co-location service? If yes then are the co-located servers fully managed like your dedicated server plans?

Ans. We can quote on this, but a co-located server is an unmanaged solution. We would simply provide a network connection and the rack space itself – you would be responsible for:
1) Sourcing hardware to install
2) Providing a router/firewall
3) Fixing the hardware if it failed 24/7
4) Providing the ability to reboot hardware
5) Things like inserting CDs, using KVMoIP
6) Providing a switch, graphing bandwidth
7) Monitoring your servers

We do not offer management service for co-located servers. You will need to have your staff member or yourself to take care of any hardware or software problems for your server. We offer only reboot and rack space for co-location servers.

If you are interested in this then let us know how much would be your bandwidth requirement for co-located servers. Our dedicated servers are a better option in comparison with co-location as our dedicated servers are fully managed servers with 24×7 phone support, live chat support and help desk.

Q. Do you block ports for server security reasons?

Ans. We don’t open any unwanted ports on our Shared Hosting and Reseller Hosting servers due to security reasons. If a user requires additional port access, then we suggest choosing VPS Hosting, Semi Dedicated Server or a Dedicated Server as you get a dedicated environment and you can run custom software/applications you want with any port you wish to open.

As per our company policies, we cannot open any additional ports on any of our shared hosting/reseller hosting servers. We have Cheap VPS Hosting and Semi Dedicated Servers just for customers who need custom settings along with all benefits of a dedicated server.

Q. I want to run two or more websites which would have their own individual control panel? Do you have any hosting plan which I can use in this case.

Ans. For individual control panel access for each of your hosted websites, our Reseller Hosting and VPS Hosting plans would be perfect for your requirement. You can create unlimited accounts with individual control panel access under your Reseller Hosting/Cheap VPS Hosting plan. All of our Linux VPS Hosting and Linux Reseller Hosting plans come with cPanel/WHM control panel. WHM allows you to add, create and manage unlimited number of accounts and hence you can host multiple websites with dedicated control panel access for each of those websites. This however doesn’t mean that you cannot host multiple websites on our cPanel Hosting plans. Multiple Domains Hosting feature is supported on cPanel Hosting plans in the form of add-on domains. An add-on domain is a new domain that is added on top of your main domain. It creates a sub directory within your main web hosting UK directory but can show a different website.
